Foster Program
Our foster homes are an important part of our foundation and help set our cats up for success. Being a part of our program means opening up your home and your heart to help save the lives of cats and kittens. We pull cats from over-populated and under-resourced shelters and send them to our fosters, who make sure they are happy and healthy before they make their way to our adoption lounge! The work we do would not be possible without our wonderful fosters.
As a Catcade foster, you will have the full support of our staff and volunteers behind you. We’re here to answer your questions, share resources – even connect you with a fostering mentor, if you’d like. We want your experience to be a good one, because happy fosters make for happy, healthy, and well-socialized cats.

A couple important highlights:
Our foster program is an at-will foster program, meaning you sign up week to week when you are available to foster.
Fostering is a great way of trying out cats and kittens in your home before you make the final decision to adopt.
Having foster cats in your home is a great way to have a feline friend without the full commitment of adoption!
The Catcade will cover all medical supplies and start you off with some wet and dry food to get you started but you are responsible for ongoing food, litter, litter boxes, feeding bowls, toys, etc.
You will be expected to provide us with regular (sometimes daily) check-ins on the status of your fosters.
You must be able to isolate your foster from any resident pets for a minimum of two weeks. A spare bedroom or bathroom works well. This is incredibly important while your foster cat clears their quarantine period.
As a note: All cats that are in our adoption lounge have already been through our foster program and do not need to be fostered.
