Foster-to-Adopt

So You’re thinking aBout adopting but want to foster the cat first…this is the program for you!

Our Foster-to-Adopt Program is available for cats currently not in the lounge. These cats are available to be fostered before their adoption is finalized. Since you are not able to meet the kitty first, we offer a foster period of seven days for you to see if it's a good fit. You will take them home and get to know their personality over the week. If after seven days all is going well, we would finalize the adoption paperwork.

The cats in the lounge at The Catcade are not available for Foster-to-Adopt. Only the cats listed on this page are available for FTA.

If there is a cat below that interests you, please email Christine at Christine(at)thecatcade.org

Kit - male, 10 years old. Professional Cuddler, Senior Sweetheart.

Calling all senior cat lovers—your perfect gentleman has arrived! Kit is a calm, affectionate boy who lives for cozy moments and quiet companionship. Whether he’s curled up next to you on the couch or snoozing in bed at your side (yes, he insists on sharing the bed—no closed doors, please!), Kit is all about being close to his people. Even if you aren’t his people, Kit hasn’t met a lap he doesn’t like. He’s quite the social butterfly and enjoys meeting new, chill people.

Kit is a master of relaxation but also enjoys short bursts of solo play and a good wand toy session when the mood strikes. A chill home would suit him best— unpredictable kids and loud sounds make him a little nervous (relatable, honestly)—but he gets along well with other mellow cats.

Kit was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and takes his medication like a pro—just a pill twice a day. Don’t worry: The Catcade will provide his meds for the first year after adoption. He’s also on a Hill’s Prescription Diet C/D, which he genuinely loves, so no food fuss here!

If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion to share your calm, cozy life, Kit is ready to claim his favorite spot on your couch—and your heart.

Josh - male, 2 years old. Laid Back, Bird Nerd.

If you’re looking for a chill companion with serious cool-cat energy, Josh is your guy. He’s got the vibe of someone who’s just happy to hang—whether you’re reading, relaxing, or soaking in a bubble bath (yes, he’ll absolutely supervise with those dreamy green eyes).

Josh is all about that one-on-one lifestyle. He’s not interested in sharing his space with other cats—he wants to be your main (and only) man. When he’s not keeping you company during self-care time, you’ll find him birdwatching like a true feathered-friend fanatic. We’re pretty sure if he could talk, he’d know every species by name—and probably have a favorite.

Josh does need to stay on a special urinary diet, which he enjoys with gusto, so he’s an easy man in that department.

If your vibe is cozy, calm, and a little quirky, Josh just might be your new favorite roommate.

Merlot - male, 5 years old. WWE Star, Tunnel Enthusiast

Mr. Merlot is about as rough and tumble as they come. I would like to clarify: Merlot is not an aggressive cat by any means, he just really loves to throw down. He loves to chase after wand toys, wrestle, and run through tunnels at light speed. Once he’s finally tired, he loves to sit on the couch and suck down a meat tube, which I think is the human equivalent of putting your feet up and having a beveragino.

Merlot needs cat friends at home that are not afraid of some playtime. He loves playing with his foster friends and should not be a solo cat.

Medical costs: $100

Evangeline - female, 2.5 years old. Blind, Friendly, Silly Girl

I need to preface this bio by saying that Evangeline is 100% blind. I know in that third picture, she looks like she has eyes, but that was before the surgery that removed her two absolutely useless eyeballs. I just wanted to show you how silly she is by including that third photo.

Anyways. Based on the bio that her foster home provided, you guys are lucky I’m not keeping Evangeline for myself. She is a confident lady who has loved snuggling every person she’s met. I’ve been told that she once climbed a human for head scratches, so if that isn’t dedication, I don’t know what is. Evangeline is not only loving, but also playful. Even though she can’t see, she loves hunting crinkle toys and other toys that she can hear.

Evangeline’s ideal home would be one that has relaxed people and cats. She is also 100% blind, as stated previously, but gets around very well. Her foster parents forget that she can’t see!

Medical costs: $100

Crumb - female, 2 years old. A Gentle Lady With Refined Taste

Miss Crumb is a quiet soul who knows what she likes: peace, sunshine, and the company of her favorite humans. You’ll often find her curled up in a sunny spot, perfectly content just to be nearby while her foster works. She’s not demanding, but she does appreciate affection and attention from those she trusts.

Crumb is searching for a calm home where she can enjoy a life of simple pleasures—soft couches, cozy conversations, and bird-watching out the window. Once she feels safe, she’ll become the kind of companion who makes every day feel a little more serene, like sharing stories on the porch with an old friend.

If your home could use a touch of calm and quiet company, Miss Crumb would love to be your devoted companion.

Medical costs: $100

Cami - female, 3 years old. Independent, Gentle, and Finding Her Rhythm

Cami is a sweet, low-maintenance girl who values companionship on her own terms. She won’t be in your lap 24/7, but she’ll happily keep you company—whether you’re working, reading, or relaxing—enjoying her own quiet version of “together time.”She loves batting her toys around during solo play sessions and is perfectly content to lounge next to her foster mom on the couch, soaking up the calm. While Cami is shy at first, with patience and kindness she blossoms into a loyal companion who truly appreciates the people she trusts.

Cami would thrive in a peaceful, cat-free home with someone who understands that love can grow quietly.

Medical costs: $100

Big Eyes Brenda – female, 2 years old. Your One and Only

Meet Big Eyes Brenda, the sweetest little old soul you’ll ever encounter—despite being just two years young! With her big, expressive eyes and calm demeanor, Brenda gives off major grandma vibes: cozy, gentle, and always ready for a nap.

Brenda lives for attention and loves nothing more than being near her favorite human. She's an expert cuddler, a top-tier napper, and your most loyal sidekick. But make no mistake—Brenda wants to be the only cat in your life. She’s not into sharing her space (or your affection) with other felines. She’d thrive in a quiet, loving home where she can enjoy the finer things in life: soft beds, warm laps, and the occasional chat with her person.

Medical costs: $100

Fraud (black long hair, male) and Embezzlement (black and white, female) - 5 months old.

Looking for a dynamic duo to steal your heart—and maybe a few treats? Sibling scoundrels Embezzlement and Fraud are here to charm you out of your socks.

These two aren’t outlaws, but you’d never know it from their antics. Embezzlement is the mastermind: she’ll quietly slink onto your lap and “appropriate” all the pets. Fraud is the getaway driver: he’s quick with a pounce, a head-butt, or an unexpected zoomie across the room. Together, they’re unstoppable in their mission to secure snacks, snuggles, and every sunny windowsill.

Ready to become their forever alibi? Prepare for a lifetime of delightful mischief and double the affection.

Medical Costs: $150 each

Latte - female, 2 years old. Your Daily Dose of Warmth and Whiskers

Latte is the perfect blend of playful and snuggly. The moment you open the door, she trots right up to say hello, ready for pets, cuddles, and maybe a quick lap sit. She’s a true social butterfly—happy to befriend everyone in the house and any visitors who stop by. When she’s not chasing toy mice or leaping after a wand toy, Latte loves to stretch out nearby for a long, cozy nap. She adores being held, happily accepts belly rubs, and will keep you company while you work (she’s an excellent “coworker”).

Latte would thrive in a home where she can be the center of attention. She’s not a fan of rowdy dogs, but she could settle in with a calm, respectful canine companion.

If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate cat who will brighten every corner of your home, Latte is ready to pour her love straight into your heart.
