Foster-to-Adopt
So You’re thinking aBout adopting but want to foster the cat first…this is the program for you!
Our Foster-to-Adopt Program is available for cats currently not in the lounge. These cats are available to be fostered before their adoption is finalized. Since you are not able to meet the kitty first, we offer a foster period of seven days for you to see if it's a good fit. You will take them home and get to know their personality over the week. If after seven days all is going well, we would finalize the adoption paperwork.
The cats in the lounge at The Catcade are not available for Foster-to-Adopt. Only the cats listed on this page are available for FTA.
If there is a cat below that interests you, please email Elle at Elle(at)thecatcade.org
Kit - male, 10 years old. Professional Cuddler, Senior Sweetheart.
Calling all senior cat lovers—your perfect gentleman has arrived! Kit is a calm, affectionate boy who lives for cozy moments and quiet companionship. Whether he’s curled up next to you on the couch or snoozing in bed at your side (yes, he insists on sharing the bed—no closed doors, please!), Kit is all about being close to his people. Even if you aren’t his people, Kit hasn’t met a lap he doesn’t like. He’s quite the social butterfly and enjoys meeting new, chill people.
Kit is a master of relaxation but also enjoys short bursts of solo play and a good wand toy session when the mood strikes. A chill home would suit him best— unpredictable kids and loud sounds make him a little nervous (relatable, honestly)—but he gets along well with other mellow cats.
Kit was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and takes his medication like a pro—just a pill twice a day. Don’t worry: The Catcade will provide his meds for the first year after adoption. He’s also on a Hill’s Prescription Diet C/D, which he genuinely loves, so no food fuss here!
If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion to share your calm, cozy life, Kit is ready to claim his favorite spot on your couch—and your heart.

Gouda - male, 4 years old. *adoption pending*
Gouda may not be quite as sharp as a Cheddar, but this soft orange boy is perfectly named for his mellow, creamy coloring and lovable personality. While he can be a little shy at first, once you earn his trust, Gouda becomes a total sweetheart—belly rubs included (yes, really!).
He’s slowly warming up to wand toys but is perfectly content entertaining himself by bunny-kicking a catnip pickle around the room. Currently, he’s chilling with his foster buddy Cami and clearly enjoys her gentle company. Though on the quiet side, Gouda has a soft spot for nighttime cuddles and will happily curl up next to you when it’s time to wind down.
Gouda would thrive in a calm home—either as a solo cat or with another laid-back feline friend. If you’re looking for a gentle soul with a cheesy name and a heart of gold, Gouda might just be your guy.
Medical costs: $100
Cami - female, 3 years old. *adoption pending*
Looking for a low-maintenance lady who marches to the beat of her own drum? Meet Cami! She’s the kind of cat who enjoys your company while doing her own thing—whether you're working, relaxing, or just hanging out, she’ll be nearby, doing her version of “together time.”
Cami loves solo play sessions with her toys and is happiest lounging next to her foster mom on the couch. She shares her space peacefully with her foster buddy Gouda and appreciates his company—just don’t expect any cuddly PDA. Cami keeps it classy. (And honestly, kissing your friends in public is kind of weird.)
Cami would thrive in a calm home, either with another easygoing cat or as the star of the show. If you’re into quiet companionship with just the right amount of independence, Cami might just be your perfect match.
Medical costs: $100
Josh - male, 2 years old. Laid Back, Bird Nerd.
If you’re looking for a chill companion with serious cool-cat energy, Josh is your guy. He’s got the vibe of someone who’s just happy to hang—whether you’re reading, relaxing, or soaking in a bubble bath (yes, he’ll absolutely supervise with those dreamy green eyes).
Josh is all about that one-on-one lifestyle. He’s not interested in sharing his space with other cats—he wants to be your main (and only) man. When he’s not keeping you company during self-care time, you’ll find him birdwatching like a true feathered-friend fanatic. We’re pretty sure if he could talk, he’d know every species by name—and probably have a favorite.
Josh does need to stay on a special urinary diet, which he enjoys with gusto, so he’s an easy man in that department.
If your vibe is cozy, calm, and a little quirky, Josh just might be your new favorite roommate.
Medical costs: $100
Eddie - male, 3 years old. Box Connoisseur, Purr Machine.
If there’s a box, Eddie’s already claimed it—and honestly, he’s yet to find one he doesn’t love. This sweet guy was found outdoors but quickly decided that people (and cozy boxes) are way better company than the great outdoors—earning himself a stylish ear tip along the way!
Eddie might not be the lap cat type, but he absolutely adores attention and purrs like a motor when he’s happy. He’s the perfect chill buddy for movie nights and snack time—basically, the kind of companion we all deserve.
Eddie’s ideal home is one where he’s the one and only cat, so he can soak up all the love and box space just for himself.
Medical costs: $100.
Schnuckiputzi - female, 1 year old. Gentle Girl, Snuggle Bug.
Schnuckiputzi’s name means “sweetie pie,” and that’s exactly who she is—though her journey hasn’t always been easy. She’s looking for a patient and loving person who can help her discover the joys of relaxation, play, and quiet companionship.
Imagine: Cozy spa days with matching bathrobes, cucumbers on your eyes, and the finest wet food on her plate, while you both enjoy a sushi movie night featuring all the predictable plots and charmingly cheesy characters of Hallmark films. With gentle encouragement, she’ll slowly start to embrace the calm and comfort she deserves.
Her ideal home is a peaceful haven with experienced cat owners, where she can be the cherished only cat and bloom at her own pace.
Medical costs: $100
Cardboard Box - female, 3 years old. Queen of Routine, Cuddle Commander.
Meet Cardboard Box, a stunning house panther with a routine as sharp as her gaze—and she’s not shy about making sure you’re part of it. Wake up? Time for cuddles. Lunchtime? She’ll definitely remind you. Afternoon nap? Expect her to be right by your side. Bath time afterward? She’s got you covered—literally cleaning you. And when it’s bedtime? She’s already under the covers, waiting for you.
This smart, beautiful lady knows exactly what she wants and only accepts applications from those worthy of her love and attention.
Cardboard Box would thrive in a home where she gets plenty of affection or has a playful feline friend to keep her company.
Medical costs: $100
Henry - male, 10 years old. Experienced and Athletic.
This sweet, relaxed guy is looking for a special home where he can live out his golden years in comfort and peace. He's a bit of a "one-cat show" and needs to be the only feline in the house. Henry loves snuggling up with soft blankets, curling into cozy spots, and enjoying quiet time with his favorite person. He also has a playful side and loves playing fetch—yes, you read that right! Toss a mouse, and Henry will bring it back for you like a pro.
As a cat with some life under his belt, Henry is best suited to an experienced cat owner who understands his need for boundaries. He does love to be pet but sometimes his butt is off limits or he's had enough and he will nip to let you know he wants space. It's all part of his old man charm!
Henry had his eye removed due to cancer, and he is currently cancer-free! However, because of this, he is more susceptible to cancer in the future and will need regular annual vet checks to maintain his health.
Medical costs: $100
Chenin Blanc - female, 3 years old. *adoption pending*
Chenin Blanc is a mellow sweetheart who lives for cozy cuddles and quiet companionship. She’s the kind of cat who always wants to be near her people—whether that means snoozing beside you during movie night or keeping you company while you work from home.
Chenin is FIV+ and her ideal home would be as the only cat in the home. With proper, slow introductions, she might be agreeable to another chill feline companion, but with humans? She’s a total lovebug. Chenin’s FIV+ diagnosis is very manageable; it just means that she will need regular vet check ups to make sure she stays happy and healthy.
If you're looking for a relaxed, affectionate best friend who will happily fill your heart and your lap, Chenin Blanc might be your perfect match. She’s ready to steal your heart!
Medical Costs: $100
Lola - female, 2 years old. Big Eyes, Big Heart (and One Very Important Banana).
Lola is a social butterfly with the biggest, most expressive eyes you’ve ever seen—and she’s not afraid to use them to get your attention! This chatty girl loves to talk, whether she’s narrating her day or politely reminding you that it’s time for pets. She adores the company of both humans and other animals, and when she’s not mingling, she’s usually snuggled up with her beloved catnip banana (yes, it’s in the photo—and yes, she’s obsessed).
Lola would thrive in a home full of love, conversation, and maybe even a few extra catnip toys. If you’re looking for a charming, talkative sidekick with excellent taste in produce, Lola is your girl.
Medical costs: $100
Sugar Packet - female, 10 months old. Sugar, Spice, Everything Nice.
Sugar Packet is equal parts sugar and spice—charming, playful, and always ready to chat. Whether she’s chirping a greeting, following you from room to room, or giving her opinion on your snack choices, this little lady loves to be part of the conversation.
She’s a total people-cat who also gets along well with other friendly pets. Sugar Packet is never far from the action and makes an excellent sidekick for just about anything—lounging, bird-watching, or spontaneous play sessions with her favorite toy.
If you’re looking for a social, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining feline friend, Sugar Packet is ready to bring her sparkle into your home.
