Foster-to-Adopt

So You’re thinking aBout adopting but want to foster the cat first…this is the program for you!

Our Foster-to-Adopt Program is available for cats currently not in the lounge. These cats are available to be fostered before their adoption is finalized. Since you are not able to meet the kitty first, we offer a foster period of seven days for you to see if it's a good fit. You will take them home and get to know their personality over the week. If after seven days all is going well, we would finalize the adoption paperwork.

The cats in the lounge at The Catcade are not available for Foster-to-Adopt. Only the cats listed on this page are available for FTA.

If there is a cat below that interests you, please email Elle at Elle(at)thecatcade.org

Kit - male, 10 years old

Where are our senior lovers at? Boy do I have the cat for you! Kit is a cuddler and loves to be with his people. He is a good couch companion and enjoys when his people can appreciate the art of relaxation. There’s nothing better than a good sofa session! Kit can also entertain himself for a bit and enjoys a good wand toy session. Kit likes to sleep in bed with his people so no closed doors needed!

Kit would do well in a home with adults since kids freak him out (same) and would probably be best as an only cat.

Kit was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and gets a pill twice daily - he is VERY good for it! The Catcade will provide the medication for one year after adoption. He will also need to stay on his Hill’s Prescription Diet C/D which he enjoys immensly.

Medical costs: $100

Gouda - male, 4 years old

Gouda was named for his color, as he’s not quite a Cheddar, but still orange enough to warrant a cheesy name. This beautiful buff boy plays a bit hard to get, but enjoys a belly rub(!) when he gets to know you. He’s getting better at playing with wand toys, but honestly loves kicking around a catnip pickle by himself. He’s currently hanging out with his foster friend, Cami, and really does enjoy her company. I’ve heard that even though he is quite shy, he loves to snuggle up at night and get cozy.

Gouda gets along well with Cami, but would also do well as a solo cat, or with another chill cat at home.

Medical costs: $100

Cami - female, 3 years old

If you’re looking for a more independent lady, Cami could be your girl! She will enjoy your company while you do whatever it is you’re doing while she also does whatever it is she’s doing. Right now she’s a fan of playing with her toys by herself and laying next to her foster mom on the couch. She does enjoy Gouda’s company, but you won’t see her snuggling him (she’s not a big fan of PDA). I get it, it’s weird to kiss your friends in public.

Cami gets along well with Gouda, but would also do well in a home with another chill cat, or as a solo cat.

Medical costs: $100

Josh - male, 2 years old

If you’re looking for a chill cat, Josh is absolutely the man. He’s cool if you’re cool, you know what I’m saying? He doesn’t even mind if you already have a home stash cat, as long as they’re cool too, ya feel? Just look at those handsome green eyes. Wouldn’t you like to be taking a bubble bath and having those pretty eyes watching over you? I know you would. When you’re not enjoying a soak in the bathtub together, you can enjoy watching birds, as that’s Josh’s favorite activity. I’m sure if he could talk, he would be able to identify their calls. Typical bird nerd.

Josh needs to be on a special urinary diet, which he thoroughly enjoys. He would do well as a single cat or with another cat.

Medical costs: $100

Henry - male, 10 years old *adoption pending

This lovely gentleman is Henry. He’s a new member of the “One Eyeball Club”, doesn’t he look so dashing? He’s working on his pirate costume for Halloween already, so please only apply if you’re willing to commit to the pirate costume bit (just kidding, he isn’t that picky). I’ve also been told that Henry is an absolute pro at the game of fetch, so those with good arms please apply.

Henry had his eye removed due to cancer. Thankfully the cancer was only found in the one eye and did not spread. Because of this, he is more susceptible to cancer than the average kitty.

Henry would be best in a home where he is the only cat.

Medical costs: $100

Abram - male, 4.5 years old *adoption pending

Isn’t Abram just the most polite looking cat you ever did see? Well that’s because he is. Abram really loves wand toys, following you around, and snuggling. He might look like a party pooper, but that photo was taken after the birthday party, so he was ready for a nap. You don’t even need a big fancy couch in order to adopt Abram, because he’s going to sit right on your lap, anyways.

Abram would do well in a home by himself or with other relaxed cats.

Medical costs: $100

Wybee - male, 2 years old

If you’ve ever wanted a cat that gives hugs, now is your chance! Wybee is a lover of many things, but is also just a lover in general. He loves being held like a baby and getting forehead kisses, an open window to sniff the breeze, and sitting in the kitchen to smell your tasty meal.

Wybee had both of his eyes removed because of previous illness. He is incredibly intelligent and makes his way around with his hearing and smell. Wybee lives a very happy and healthy life without his vision!

Medical costs: $100

Eddie - male, 3 years old

This is Eddie, and that is Eddie’s box. Well, realistically, Eddie hasn’t met a box he doesn’t like. Eddie was found outdoors and quickly realized he likes hanging out with people and boxes, instead of outside (that’s how he got his stylish ear tip!). While Eddie isn’t known for being a lap cat, he absolutely loves attention, and has a very loud purr. Eddie sounds like the kind of guy who would be cool with watching movies and binging snacks together, and isn’t that the kind of guy we all deserve?

Eddie’s future home would be a home where he is the only cat.

Medical costs: $100.
