Foster-to-Adopt
So You’re thinking aBout adopting but want to foster the cat first…this is the program for you!
Our Foster-to-Adopt Program is for cats that are not in our adoption lounge, but still need a home! These cats are available to be fostered before their adoption is finalized. Since you are not able to meet the kitty first, we offer a foster period of seven days for you to see if it's a good fit. You will take them home and get to know their personality over the week. If after seven days all is going well, we would finalize the adoption paperwork.
The cats in the lounge at The Catcade are not available for Foster-to-Adopt. Only the cats listed on this page are available for FTA.
If there is a cat below that interests you, please email Elle at elle(at)thecatcade.org
Kit - male, 10 years old. Professional Cuddler, Senior Sweetheart.
Calling all senior cat lovers—your perfect gentleman has arrived! Kit is a calm, affectionate boy who lives for cozy moments and quiet companionship. Whether he’s curled up next to you on the couch or snoozing in bed at your side (yes, he insists on sharing the bed—no closed doors, please!), Kit is all about being close to his people. Even if you aren’t his people, Kit hasn’t met a lap he doesn’t like. He’s quite the social butterfly and enjoys meeting new, chill people.
Kit is a master of relaxation but also enjoys short bursts of solo play and a good wand toy session when the mood strikes. A chill home would suit him best— unpredictable kids and loud sounds make him a little nervous (relatable, honestly)—but he gets along well with other mellow cats.
Kit was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and takes his medication like a pro—just a pill twice a day. Don’t worry: The Catcade will provide his meds for the first year after adoption. He’s also on a Hill’s Prescription Diet C/D, which he genuinely loves, so no food fuss here!
If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion to share your calm, cozy life, Kit is ready to claim his favorite spot on your couch—and your heart.
Medical costs: $100
Josh - male, 2 years old. Laid Back, Bird Nerd.
If you’re looking for a chill companion with serious cool-cat energy, Josh is your guy. He’s got the vibe of someone who’s just happy to hang—whether you’re reading, relaxing, or soaking in a bubble bath (yes, he’ll absolutely supervise with those dreamy green eyes).
Josh is all about that one-on-one lifestyle. He’s not interested in sharing his space with other cats—he wants to be your main (and only) man. When he’s not keeping you company during self-care time, you’ll find him birdwatching like a true feathered-friend fanatic. We’re pretty sure if he could talk, he’d know every species by name—and probably have a favorite.
Josh does need to stay on a special urinary diet, which he enjoys with gusto, so he’s an easy man in that department.
If your vibe is cozy, calm, and a little quirky, Josh just might be your new favorite roommate.
Medical costs: $100
Henry - male, 10 years old.
This sweet, relaxed guy is looking for a special home where he can live out his golden years in comfort and peace. He's a bit of a "one-cat show" and needs to be the only feline in the house. Henry loves snuggling up with soft blankets, curling into cozy spots, and enjoying quiet time with his favorite person. He also has a playful side and loves playing fetch—yes, you read that right! Toss a mouse, and Henry will bring it back for you like a pro.
As a cat with some life under his belt, Henry is best suited to an experienced cat owner who understands his need for boundaries. He does love to be pet but sometimes his butt is off limits or he's had enough and he will nip to let you know he wants space. It's all part of his old man charm!
Henry had his eye removed due to cancer, and he is currently cancer-free! However, because of this, he is more susceptible to cancer in the future and will need regular annual vet checks to maintain his health.
Medical costs: $100
Merlot - male, 5 years old. WWE Star, Tunnel Enthusiast
Mr. Merlot is about as rough and tumble as they come. I would like to clarify: Merlot is not an aggressive cat by any means, he just really loves to throw down. He loves to chase after wand toys, wrestle, and run through tunnels at light speed. Once he’s finally tired, he loves to sit on the couch and suck down a meat tube, which I think is the human equivalent of putting your feet up and having a beveragino.
Merlot needs cat friends at home that are not afraid of some playtime. He loves playing with his foster friends and should not be a solo cat.
Medical costs: $100
Cami - female, 3 years old. Independent, Gentle, and Finding Her Rhythm
Cami is a sweet, low-maintenance girl who values companionship on her own terms. She won’t be in your lap 24/7, but she’ll happily keep you company—whether you’re working, reading, or relaxing—enjoying her own quiet version of “together time.”She loves batting her toys around during solo play sessions and is perfectly content to lounge next to her foster mom on the couch, soaking up the calm. While Cami is shy at first, with patience and kindness she blossoms into a loyal companion who truly appreciates the people she trusts.
Cami would thrive in a peaceful, cat-free home with someone who understands that love can grow quietly.
Medical costs: $100
Jessie - female, 2 years old
Jessie is a gorgeous long-haired beauty with a heart full of love. This gentle snuggle bug is happiest in a calm, quiet home where she can relax and bond closely with her favorite people. Jessie adores cozy cuddle sessions, soft pets, and a warm blanket to lay on.
Because she prefers a peaceful environment, Jessie would thrive as the only cat—or with a very mellow companion—in a household without a lot of hustle and bustle. If you’re looking for a serene, affectionate friend who will be your loyal sidekick, Jessie is ready to curl up by your side and steal your heart.
Medical costs: $100.
Berry - female, 2 years old
Did you notice something a bit fishy about Berry’s photos? That almost all of them have that same gigantic, robotic fish in them? Well, that’s because he is her best friend. Berry and Mister Fish found each other shortly after she entered a foster home, and it’s been love ever since. I’ve heard that the two often go on romantic walks and nap together. So really, if you’re adopting Berry, you’re really getting a 2-for-1 deal on a cat and a robotic fish toy. Berry might not be a lap cat, but she and Mister Fish will make sure you’re never alone in a room ever again. They’ll always watch your back. And your front. Maybe your side, while they’re at it.
Berry is currently on a special diet while we test and see if she has any food allergies!
Berry would do well as the only cat in a home that can provide lots of attention, or with other active cat friends.
Medical costs: $100
Charlene - female, 2 years old
This cat requires that you sing her name to the tune of “Jolene” by Dolly Parton. I definitely didn’t make that up, she told me that herself. Charlene’s hobbies include being brushed, collecting all of the toys in the house and sitting on them, and birdwatching. I mean, look at those beautiful green eyes. I’d let her take all of my toys without protest.
Charlene would be best as the only cat in the home.
Medical costs: $100
Rye - male, 3 years old
If this isn’t the most handsome little man you’ve ever seen! Rye isn’t so great with other cats, but man, he loves his little dog friend! He waltzed right up to him and said “Oh hey, you live here, too? Super cool.” He’s the most affectionate little guy; he loves snuggling his dog friend and his people all at the same time whenever he can. Rye is playful, curious, and always finding new ways to entertain himself.
Rye would do well in a home without other cats, but loves his dog friend and lots of attention.
Medical costs: $100
Schnuckiputzi - female, 1 year old
Schnuckiputzi’s name means “sweetie pie,” and that’s exactly who she is—though her journey hasn’t always been easy. She’s looking for a patient and loving person who can help her discover the joys of relaxation, play, and quiet companionship.
Imagine: Cozy spa days with matching bathrobes, cucumbers on your eyes, and the finest wet food on her plate, while you both enjoy a sushi movie night featuring all the predictable plots and charmingly cheesy characters of Hallmark films. With gentle encouragement, she’ll slowly start to embrace the calm and comfort she deserves.
Her ideal home is a peaceful haven with experienced cat owners, where she can be the cherished only cat and bloom at her own pace.
